Johnny P

Johnny P

Johnny started to learn/dabble with the guitar in early teenage school years and was soon performing at local pubs in his first full amateur rock/pop band around 1972 – playing original material. Various other bands have followed over many many years – on and off, with Johnny playing and singing with an electric or acoustic guitar. Styles ranged from heavy rock, power pop, punk, new wave, pub rock and country blues

Although recently acquiring and learning some electric mandolin, 5 string banjo and ukulele, his preference still remains the trusty acoustic guitar, and with an absolute continued passion for all Country Folk Rock and Blues tunes with harmony vocals

Johnny is now one half of a brand new  – Acoustic/Electro Duo – called “WIRES & WOOD” playing that style of music – and currently seeking gigs. Since the other half of “Wires and Wood” is unavailable for this event, he is excited to be performing a selection of some favourite songs for the very first time – flying solo!

Adam Warner

Adam Warner

Adam Warner is a singer-songwriter from Farnham, Surrey.  He has been playing the guitar since his early 20s and will be performing an acoustic set today. Adam’s passion is singing, but his other love is his Personal Training business, where he helps people to achieve their fitness goals.  Adam’s musical influences are eclectic – he loves classic rock and metal, particularly the work of Metallica, Black Sabbath, The Doors, Motley Crüe, Guns N’ Roses and Tenacious D, but more recently enjoys listening to Shawn James, Matt Andersen and Oasis.  Adam’s original songs are from the heart and you can hear that in his lyrics. Adam began taking singing lessons earlier this year with A Touch of Musicality and has really enjoyed learning new skills and discovering different vocal techniques. His vocal lessons have also inspired him to take up piano lessons, which Adam will be starting in September. Adam will be performing two original songs today, as well as a cover of Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds recent hit, ‘Dead in the Water’. Adam will also be performing ‘All of Me’ by John Legend with his singing teacher, Phoebe.

We Two Dear Men, by Roland Eve

We Two Dear Men

Set in Pompeii the day before the eruption of Vesuvius, Roland Eve makes a directorial debut this year at Surrey Showcase.

A piece of graffiti has been found in Pompeii which reads “Hic fiumus cari duo nos sine fine sodales nomina si quaeris Caius et Aulus erant” – “We two dear men, friends forever, were here. If you want to know our names, they are Gaius and Aulus.”

This play is a conversation between these two men on the evening before the eruption of Vesuvius which buried the city under 82 feet of ash leaving it hidden and abandoned for hundreds of years. Gaius is planning to seek his fortune in Rome, and Aulus is concerned about signs of impending danger.

IF?

IF?

Izzy and Feli (IF?) are two 14-year-old singer-songwriters who met at the start of secondary school. They quickly discovered they had a shared love of music and performing. A temporary hold was put on their musical ambitions when Feli had to move back to Germany, at the end of Year 7. When she returned the following year, the girls became best friends and, as soon as they turned 14, applied to their local council for busking licences.
They can be seen most Saturdays in Horsham town centre performing a range of chart-toppers, which they put their own distinctive acoustic and harmony spin on. Between them, they play various instruments, guitar, ukulele, piano (all self-taught), and they are both powerful and engaging singers.
Izzy has had vocal training for the past four years and is currently studying for her grade six exam. She has a naturally powerful and rich voice. Feli, is the more accomplished guitarist of the duo, providing the tune (and the beat), and her voice is just as striking in its purity and clarity, with a strength that completely stands up its own.

Together they create acoustic arrangements that deliver strong melodies and beautifully crafted
harmonies. Who knows what the future holds for IF?

His personal style is influenced by Fleetwood Mac, Neil Diamond and Twenty-One Pilots. He released his 1st single ‘Conjure

Adam Coburn

Adam Coburn

Adam is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist originally hailing from Oxfordshire, but now living in Guildford.

Influences range from folk, Rhythm and Blues, Rock, Hip hop, abstract experimental electronica and classical roots. (You’ll also spot him in Guildford Jazz Choir on the Main Stage!)

Finding bands has always a struggle and so he decided to go it alone and experiment with looping. This lead to the current project: covering and re-imagining tracks that make his head swim, with a little bit of Ukulele thrown in to break things up.

You’ll find a mix of styles in Adam’s set, as he aims to provide something for everyone.

Tilly Winford

Tilly Winford

Tilly Winford has appeared in several Nomes Youth Theatre and Nomads shows, and recently appeared in BBC 2’s drama ‘Don’t Forget the Driver’.

Tilly has Cerebral Palsy (CP) but she’s not letting that hold her back! She continues to show the world that disability is no
longer a justifiable barrier to inclusive casting in theatre and television.

“I have a huge passion for performing and feel that there’s not many actors out there with disabilities and I would like to be part of changing this fact. I am determined to continue to show the world that a disability doesn’t change a person inside, and that that person is just as capable of thinking/doing the same things as anyone else. I want to inspire and encourage others with disabilities to get out there and live their lives!”
